✨ Promise in the Storm

The storm has raged for days. The passengers are exhausted, food has been neglected, and hope has nearly disappeared.

Then Paul stands among them and speaks a message unlike anything else on the ship: God has not abandoned them. An angel has appeared, and every life aboard will be preserved.

“Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.” — Acts 27:25, NKJV

AFTER LONG ABSTINENCE

Paul Stands Up Among Them

The men have gone a long time without food. Fear, exhaustion, and the relentless storm have drained the strength of everyone aboard.

At that moment, Paul stands in their midst.

“Men, you should have listened to me, and not have sailed from Crete and incurred this disaster and loss.”
Acts 27:21, NKJV

A CHANGE IN TONE

“I Urge You to Take Heart”

Paul does not remain focused on what should have happened.

He turns immediately toward hope.

“And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.”
Acts 27:22, NKJV

THE NIGHT VISITATION

An Angel of God Stood by Paul

Paul's confidence comes from a message received during the night.

He tells the men that an angel belonging to the God he serves stood beside him.

“For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve...”

THE MESSAGE

“Do Not Be Afraid, Paul”

The angel's message begins with reassurance.

Paul will survive the storm because he still has an appointment ahead: he must stand before Caesar.

“Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar...”

THE PROMISE EXTENDS

All Those Who Sail with You

The promise is not limited to Paul alone.

God assures him that the lives of those sailing with him will also be preserved.

“...and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.”
Acts 27:24, NKJV

PAUL'S FAITH

“I Believe God”

The weather has not improved. The waves have not stopped. The ship is still in danger.

Yet Paul speaks with confidence because his faith rests on what God has said.

“Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.”
Acts 27:25, NKJV

THE SHIP WILL STILL BE LOST

Promise Does Not Mean No Hardship

God's promise does not mean the voyage will suddenly become easy.

Paul tells them that the ship will still be lost and that they must run aground on a certain island.

“However, we must run aground on a certain island.”
